22 things I learnt in 2022

1. If you want to change your life, let go of the things that are no longer serving you. You might grieve your old life at first, but it is the only way to create the space for new people and opportunities to present themselves.

2. Dissatisfaction is a blessing in (uncomfortable) disguise. It is the only thing that will actually force you to want more for yourself.

3. Life is too short to read a sh*t book.

4. It's also too short to hang around with people that you know you don't really want to.

5. Spend the $4.99 on the in-app purchase every once in a while. You wouldn't think twice if you were buying a coffee.

6. You can plan and worry all you like. But the things that are truly meant for you will fall into your life with ease when the time is right (I know I know, annoying advice, but very true).

7. Everyone is dealing with their own insecurities. Usually they are so nonsensical that when finally voiced, you realise how absolutely absurd they are (try it out for yourself).

8. Having a cool online presence is not worth it if maintaining it is at the expense of your mental sanity.

9. Having more money won't make you less stressed about money.

10. Apply the 3 second rule whenever you jump into cold water (count to 3 then jump). It will be a lot less painful for everyone involved.

11. You won't feel tempted to online shop if you never look in the first place. Do yourself a favour and unsubscribe.

12. You're not lazy if you gain weight or struggle to keep active working in a 9-5 office job. It's the lifestyle of sitting at a desk for 8 hours straight that is the problem, not you.

13. Shoot your shot. I'd rather deal with rejection than 'what if'.

14. You can sit there and stew for days wondering why that person never texted you back. Or you can just not. The choice is yours.

15. Don't confuse good conversation or shared interests with chemistry.

16. You don't need to own crystals, sage or attend yoga retreats to be spiritual. It's an inside job. That stuff is all just consumerism.

17. If you spend too long in an environment that you don't thrive in, you will start to believe that you are the problem. But don't worry, you're not.

18. Low-key birthdays are underrated. Stop forcing yourself to host a big gathering that you know you won't really enjoy.

19. It doesn't matter how much 'body acceptance' work you have done for yourself. Going up a size in clothing is always going to be a hard pill to swallow.

20. It's nice to sit in and enjoy your comfort zone for a little while. But if you stay there too long it will stifle you.

21. Get out of the grid as often as possible (by this, I mean venture beyond the city you live in). It's good for the soul.

22. A lot can (and will) happen in a year. Appreciate where you are at now, because it is very likely that the same people, places or things won't be around come 2024.

  1. Bali's rich cultural heritage and spiritual traditions infuse the yoga scene with a unique flavor. You may encounter elements of Balinese Hinduism, such as offerings, ceremonies, and temple visits, which add depth to your yoga journey.
